e-Merging e-Learning Conference 2005

November 19 - 21, 2005
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Chair's Welcome

Dr. Tayeb Kamali

The e-Merging e-Learning conference 2005 will be the fourth conference since September 2002. Originally started as a dialogue on how educational institutions in the Middle East could engage the latest technology and bring custom e-Learning content into the region. The last conference focused on standards and accreditation for e-Learning and Distance education along with new technology and pedagogical developments in e-Learning.

The focus for this years conference will again have two distinct tracks; one for the latest technology and pedagogy for e-Learning geared for Online Learning professionals and the other on the role of technology in the public / private education systems for primary, intermediate and secondary school systems, commonly called the K-12 education sector. The role of technology in the K-12 sector needs to be enhanced and spending rationalized to ensure that technology investments are sound bringing about increased quality of learning and efficiencies in the administration of these extremely important and costly educational systems.

Education is the key to a country's social, technological, political and economic development. It shapes young minds and inspires the entrepreneurial spirit in society. As such, the students of today are the future leaders and we must ensure that they get every possibility of success from our education and training systems.

We invite you to join us here in Abu Dhabi in November 2005 for an exciting and leading event for Online Learning Professionals from around the world.
